Sam Filler, founding partner of Filler & Hedum Law and Samuel Robert Filler, II, P.A., has committed his professional life to representing good people who find themselves in complicated legal matters. Based in Oviedo, Florida, the firm specializes in divorce, child custody, and criminal law cases. Over the course of his career, Mr. Filler has represented more than a thousand clients and is honored by the trust they place in him during some of life’s most challenging moments.
From South Jersey to the Florida Bar
Sam was born and raised in South Jersey, where he learned the values of family, hard work, honesty, loyalty, and responsibility while working in his family’s restaurant. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University before moving to Florida in 1993 to attend the Shepard Broad Law School at Nova Southeastern University.
In May 1996, Sam achieved his lifelong dream of graduating from law school. Later that year, he successfully passed both the Florida and New Jersey bar examinations and was admitted to practice law, allowing him to pursue his passion for seeking justice.
Experience Built in the Courtroom
Sam began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Seminole County before joining the Seminole County State Attorney’s Office as an Assistant State Attorney. These roles provided valuable litigation and trial experience while serving the public.
As the product of a family-run business, Sam always knew he wanted to build his own law firm founded on honesty, hard work, grit, and integrity. His extensive litigation experience, legal knowledge, and relentless pursuit of justice have earned him the respect of clients, court professionals, and legal peers throughout his career.
A Family Man at Heart
Sam is a proud husband and father of twin adult sons and has raised his family in Central Florida for more than 25 years. Deeply involved in the Autism community and passionate about supporting local families, he understands the importance of perseverance, compassion, and advocacy.
